I. PRECAUTIONS Concerning Worship - Gen. 4:3-5
God clearly has Expectations of our worship
  A. Pre-conceived Ideas
    Worship must be personal but not subjective
    1. What worship isn't;
    2. What worship is; Ps. 95:6; 96:7,8; 100:1
    Exalt God, Edify, Educate, Evangelize,
    Based on Biblical guidance
  B. Preventatives to worship
    1. A Hard Heart - Mt. 15:7-9 (Isa. 1:10-15)
    Read - Attendance to Worship
    2. A Heavy Ear - Mk. 4:23, 24
    Accountability (hear & do Scripture)
    3. Harbored Sin - Mt. 5:23, 24
    Attitude (I Cor. 11:22)

II. Preparing for Corporate Worship - Ps. 24:3-5
  A. Physical Preparation
    1. Do walk with God during the week, go to
    bed on time Saturday, be prepared
    2. Don't become distracted
  B. Spiritual Preparation
    1. Pray - Ps. 119:18
    2. Put on Jesus - Rom. 13:14
    3. Read Scripture - Ps. 119:162
    4. Walk in The Spirit - Gal. 5:16

III. The Practice of Corporate Worship -
  A. The Elements of Worship
    1. Prayer - Participate Attentively
    2. Praise (singing) - Participate Sincerely
    3. Giving - Give cheerfully = II Cor. 9:6-8;
    also I Cor. 16:2 “regularly”
    4. Preaching - 2 Tim. 3:16, 17; 1 Tim. 4:13
    5. Ordinances - Not despising by their freq
  B. The Attitudes of Worship
    1. Inquire - “is this true” = Acts 17:11
    2. Indulge - Study further - notes, OTB, etc.
    3. Engage - Apply it = James 1:22

Conclusions: Too many may not worshipped today because:
• They have been prevented - sin
• They were unprepared - didn't get ready
• They did not participate - no effort while here
• Do better next time

Test these truths and see if they work!
