What's it good for?

Research - A Question:
What is it good for? What is it useful for? It must be used for what it was designed. Thus we, as a church, must operate as Jesus intends.
Observation - There are many churches:
Do they exist just to appease the conscience? After all, we are all religious. Are they doctrinally sound? Are they acting on the Biblical model of a church.
We are called out to exalt the Lord in Worship, on Sunday, in honor of the resurrection, in Spirit and in Truth. We are also called to educate people in the Bible. And we are called to edify, build up, and encourage one another. And finally, we are called to evangelize the lost. Corollary purposes include accountability, ministry, prayer, helping the poor in the church, and doing good (Heb 13).
Results:
More inquiry regarding our salvation, sanctification, our peculiarities, and we might be able to help them spiritually. If we don't reach out, the cults will.
Conclusion:
If we are not doing our part, what are we good for?
