II) Jesus is the Creator / Sustainer - Col 1:16-17
    A) He Created the Visible things
    B) He Created all the Invisible things
    C) He Maintains All things

III) Jesus is Head of the Church - Col 1:18a
    A) He is its top, its leader,
        its progenitor, its body. 
    B) He has a purpose and plan
        for it (us) - Eph. 4:15-16
    C) Paul used the language of “the body”

IV) Jesus is the First of the Dead - Col 1:18b
    A) Jesus’ Resurrection is the 1st of its kind 
    B) In doing so, He: 
         • Is a Promise that there will be life
            from death (a Resurrection) - Rom 8:11
         • Is a Preview to eternal life
            from death - I John 3:2
         • Is the Precedent for those coming
            from death into life - Phil 3:20-21

V) Jesus is the Reconciler - Col 1:19-20
    A) In Jesus God was Pleased to dwell
    B) In Jesus God Reconciled “all things”
        to Himself
         = To Regenerate (make right); Justify
            (just as if it never happened)
         = To re-right, not re-write
    C) In Jesus we are at Peace with God (Rom 5:1)
