Our mission is to break the vicious cycle of incarceration by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ both inside and outside the prison walls. We help individuals take responsibility for their lives and provide a healthy support system for their reentry into society.

Hello CODR church family!

I can believe it's almost time for school to start again! We just wanted to stay in touch, let you know what we're up to and share some amazing opportunities for getting involved in prison ministry.

God has continued to bless us with new opportunities to share the Gospel and serve individuals both inside and outside of prison. Our Service in Rockwell City continues to grow and we've got a great team of new Deacons who are doing an awesome job of serving inside the facility. We've also added a few more folks to our wonderful volunteer team! So if you're not doing anything Thursday night from 7-8:15pm and you want to join in an energetic and spirit filled worship service, send us an email and we'll get you a volunteer application!

In Fort Dodge, we've been leading a program called Prison Fellowship Academy for about 4 months now and the experience has been amazing for the guys inside, but also for the volunteers! This is a year long, in depth curriculum that prepares individuals for life after release and we couldn't be more pleased with how it's going. Men are learning, growing and transforming into the kind of people God wants them to be! There's always room for more volunteers here as well, so if you're interested, send us an email.

We've also been able to lead worship services inside FDCF for the first time in a long, long time and it's been incredible. At our last service we had 101 men in attendance, and on Aug 28th we will have the honor of offering baptism there for the first time in over 5 years. A lot of men are signing up so I think it's going to be a HUGE service!

So as our inside ministry grows, it means that our reentry ministry outside will be growing soon as well. We're receiving more applications for reentry support so we'll have some great opportunities for one on one discipleship coming up in the Sept/Oct timeframe. We'll have the honor to help these men find good employment, housing and good Christian community which not only helps them stay on track, but makes our communities safer for everyone!

None of this is possible without your continued support, so thank you all so much for your faithfulness and love. It truly makes a difference!

CODR is very excited to partner with Prison Fellowship, a nationally recognized pioneer in prison ministry to provide a very special program called Prison Fellowship Academy.

Prison Fellowship Academy® uses “targeted curriculum, compassionate coaches, and restorative community to replace participants’ criminal thinking and behaviors with renewed purpose and biblically based life principles. Graduates complete the yearlong program as change agents and good citizens inside and outside of prison.”

Over the course of the next year CODR volunteers will have the privilege of facilitating this incredibly powerful and transformational experience at FDCF. Here is a picture of the PFA Graduation ceremony March 1st at Anamosa!

Prison Fellowship Academy happens Monday nights from 6-8pm and Thursday afternoons from 2-4pm at the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility. We're still accepting volunteer applications so if you would like to get involved, let us know!
